Abstract. The purpose of the article is to present a new ethnic phenomenon – workshops for reproducing Ukrainian folk costumes, which often arise on the basis of private collections. The proposed article is a step towards establishing the patterns of emergence and functioning of workshops, as well as clarifying their key features.
The object of the study is modern private initiatives to preserve and enhance the cultural heritage of Ukraine.
The subject of the study is the collection and creative activity of Halyna Hafiychuk. The scientific novelty of the work is the personally collected field materials about the activities of the art workshop for the reproduction of traditional Ukrainian costumes headed by Halyna Hafiychuk. The relevance of the proposed research is due to the scarcity of studies devoted to the analysis of the activities of modern workshops for the reproduction of traditional Ukrainian costumes as a modern cultural phenomenon caused by social demands. It is also important to present a successful artistic experience and identify its features. The research methodology is based on interviewing, photography, systematic analysis and generalization.
Keywords: Pokuttya, cultural heritage, traditional Ukrainian costumes, collector, craftswoman, Halyna Hafiychuk.
