Abstract. The article outlines the main directions of scholarly, pedagogical, and artistic activities of Roman Yatsiv — PhD in Art History, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of the Lviv National Academy of Arts. The key monographs and anthologies dedicated to the study of 20th-century Ukrainian fine arts are systematized.
The methodological specificity of the researcher, determined by the combination of scholarly and artistic practices, is analyzed. The significance of R. Yatsiv’s output is outlined in the context of forming an integral concept of national artistic heritage.
The aim of the article is to outline and analyze the main directions of Roman Yatsiv’s scholarly, pedagogical, and artistic activities.
The object of the study is the scholarly and creative heritage of R. Yatsiv.
The subject of the study is the directions, methodological specificity, and conceptual significance of R. Yatsiv’s scholarly and creative activity in the context of understanding the Ukrainian artistic heritage.
The methodological basis of the study consists of a comprehensive scholarly approach, which includes a combination of chronological, biographical, cultural-historical, and source-studying analysis.
The practical significance of the study lies in the possibility of applying its conclusions to expand the theoretical base of Ukrainian art history, particularly in terms of systematizing scholarly approaches to the historiography of 20th-century fine arts research.
