MIMESIS IN the LANDSCAPE fragments IN ICON PAINTINGS OF HALYCHYNA OFTHE 17th—18th centuries

Abstract. The article outlines the evolution of the mimetic image of nature in staffage paintings in icon art of Halychyna of the 17th-18th centuries. The role of «mimesis» in landscapes in religious scenes is opened from the position of its perceptive necessity and spreading the ideas of humanism in the Ukrainian culture. Relevance of empirical worldview caused imitation of subject pastoral compositions of WesternEuropean art, appearance of illusory (backstage) type of depicting a perspective, lightandshade modeling of the objects of staffage.
