Abstract. This article examines aspects of the modern historiography of the jewelry art of Ukraine, where domestic researchers highlight the important factors of Ukrainian cultural identity in the context of the world historical and cultural development of humanity.

The aim of the study is the analysis of modern scientific works on the topic of domestic jewelry art within the framework of identifying the factor of cultural identity of Ukraine.

The methodology of research is based on the principles of a comprehensive approach, where the following are used to achieve the goal: the comparative-historical method, the analytical-descriptive method, as well as the methods of analogies and assumptions.

Scientific novelty. For the analysis, a number of modern fundamental works of art history were singled out, which, in the opinion of the author of the article, formed the basis for further scientific investigations in the field of Ukrainian jewelry, aspects of identification of artistic metal and jewelry art of Ukraine in particular.

Conclusions. It was established that, despite the high relevance of research on the jewelry art of Ukraine in modern national art history (from 1991 to the present), there is a small number of complex scientific works on the specified topic, among which the publications of Z. Chegusova, R. Shmagalо, L. Pasichnyk, M. Kravchenko, S. Luts, O. Barbalat. It can be argued that these works of art history are extremely important in the sense of defining the characteristic features and special components of the Ukrainian cultural identity, where the specifics and signs of the Ukrainian ethnos are reflected in the jewelry works by means of form-making, which sound in the language of ancient symbols, signs, images, archetypes and are transmitted through the content and essence of Ukrainian mythology, history, religion, folk traditions, folklore, music, etc. All this is the basis for the creative inspirations of modern Ukrainian jewelry artists, the future effective progress of the jewelry art of Ukraine and the scientific exploration of the specified field in the context of the civilizational development of humanity as a whole.

Keywords: jewelеry art of Ukraine, jewelry, artistic metal, factors, identification, aspects, scientific works.
