POKUTTIA AS A HISTORIC-ETHNOGRAPHIC DISTRICT OF UKRAINE

Absract. Different aspects of a prehistoric being of Pokuttya are illuminated. Some information about its geographical and natural position, native dwellers and their dominate anthropological type, the character of the traditional colloquial folk language, ethnogenetic evolution, it`s centuries-old attraction in the process of ethnic, national, and cultural genesis of Ukrainian nation, about its active participation in national liberation struggle and, after all, in nowest and modern Ukrainian state creation process and, also, other aspects, are presented in the article.
