Abstract. This article analyzes the artwork of Myroslav Radysh, a prominent master of artistic woodcarving in the Hutsul region. The study of the inspired by the poems of the great Kobzar master’s wellknown works has highlighted the timeliness and novelty of this research.

The purpose of this article is to describe the artistic and stylistic features of Myroslav Radysh’s works and to analyze the compositional characteristics of his creative works based on his favorite poems by Taras Shevchenko.

The object of the study is the stored in Ukrainian museums and private collections artist’s works, while the subject is the artistic and compositional features of Myroslav Radysh’s wood carvings and his interpretations of the Kobzar’s works.

The methodological base of the work was the structural and arthistorical analysis of the principles underlying the artist’s compositional approach, as well as an analysis of specific ornamental patterns in the artist’s woodwork, interpreted through the prism of Taras Shevchenko’s words of prophecy.

The source base consisted of publications by Ukrainian authors on the work of the woodcarving master Myroslav Radysh and the development of the modern art of artistic wooden carving in the Hutsul region.

This article features the artist’s wooden artworks notable for their diversity, creative imagination, decorative quality, and technical perfection. Shevchenko’s famous poems have been brought to life in woodcarvings by a contemporary artist from Hutsulshchyna, embodying his own reflections, experiences, and vision of the Kobzar’s work.

Today, Myroslav Radysh is a wellknown master of artistic woodcarving in the Hutsul region who has managed to develop his own distinctive style that sets him apart from other masters but at the same time remains closely tied to the Hutsul traditions of artistic woodcarving.

Thus, Myroslav Radysh’s woodcarvings are a harmonyfilled continuation of the traditions of Hutsul woodworking in the challenging conditions of today. What is particularly relevant is the prophetic message of the great Kobzar resonating in his artistic works.
